Why wait!

I know that with everything going on lately I could sit back and tell myself..."Self, just wait till the New Year and start anew!" I don't want to do that. I have 26 days until my next birthday and about 30 days or so till the holiday shindigs get in full swing. I need to get off my duff and not give up. Just because I am supposed to stay off my feet doesn't mean I can't do anything. I just need to figure out what I can do. Numero Uno is for me to do an awesome job on the diet front and really get that under control. That will be my primary goal till the end of the year. Then I can figure out along the way what I can do on the exercise front. I believe this gives me an excuse to spend more time in the pool. The only drawback is when it is cold outside, who wants to go to the pool for a swim. So if you all have some awesome ideas for exercise that don't involve running, etc. please let me know.

It is soooo hard to get myself to the pool during the winter. I don't know if it is the fact that I have to go at the butt crack of dawn (when it is dark and cold) or late in the evening (when it is dark and cold) ... and then leaving the pool wet and cold is the worst! :)

The diet is the main leader in the battle. The numbero uno soldier. when the pool looks uninviting think of at a tri you could be the first one out of the water and take a big lead out.

I so need to join you with the diet. (I did bring in turkey and broccoli today!)

Seems like swimmming is going to be your best option. But since its actually cold here now...maybe you could sit in the suana afterwards and warm up some.

LOL - like I have any reason for giving advice...I can't even remember how to get to my gym.

What about trying some core work during this time?

Hi Mel! Thanks for the encoraging words in my journal. Could you do some non standing pilates and light weights while seated?

I vote for eating as well as possible through all this. I was afraid if I waited until the new year I'd have 10 more lbs to lose on top of it all.

Hope you're doing well. I echo Viv's comment.

Take care and let us know how you are doing when you can.
